Abstract
In the present study, the match between Chinese transitive verbs and the nouns just following them was manipulated. Auditory monitoring task and eye tracking techniques were used in two experiments. In both the experiments, the match between verb and noun following that verb produced significant graded effects. All results showed that lexical information attend sentence processing as soon as activated and accessed. The fact that lexical semantic information also had an immediate effect in sentence comprehension gave support to Interactive Models of language processing.
