Does Priority of Perception Within Inhibition of Return Exist Under Different Attentional Orienting (Article written in chinese)

Abstract

Priority of perception (POP) within inhibition of return (IOR) means that a stimulus in the cued position will be perceived earlier than that in the uncued position in contrast to the RT data. The aim of this study was to find if POP existed under different attentional orienting. Two experiments were carried out by method of temporal order judgements (TOJs) within IOR paradigm. College students were served as subjects. Experiment 1 showed that POP existed at locations being cued successively; experiment 2 showed that POP also existed when attention was distributed by double cueing. It was concluded that POP could exist at different conditions of visual orienting within IOR, not only under focused attention. These results implied that POP was a relatively general phenomenon in nature and could be considered as strong support for the response-related view on IOR.
