The Perception of Prosodic Word Stress in Standard Chinese (Article written in chinese)

Abstract

In this research, two perceptual experiments were completed. In the first experiment, the acoustic cues of stress in prosodic word of Standard Chinese were studied, and the extents to which these acoustic cues contribute to the perception of stress were investigated. The results showed that, according to the weight of contribution to stressed word perception, the acoustic cues were duration, pitch, spectral tilt, and energy. In the second experiment, the influences of non-acoustic factors on the perception of the prosodic word stress were investigated. The results showed that listeners’ linguistic knowledge of stress in prosodic word significantly influences the result of stress perception.
