F. P. NG, Y. L. KWAN, & P. M. CHIK

Abstract

This paper reports on a double-lesson of Chinese Language at Primary Three with particular reference to the objects of teaching and the outcomes of learning. The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyze how the teacher had orchestrated and incorporated the use of different teaching resources and classroom activities to bring about a rich space of learning, in terms of variation and simultaneity, to his pupils. The paper also reveals that though teaching took place within the four walls of the classroom, learning in pupils was seen to have extended beyond the walls. The pupils demonstrated a good mastery of the linguistic knowledge learned from the class activities and were able to transform such knowledge to become their personal langua ge ability in other similar learning situations.
