Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the extend to which agricultural vocational school students in Taiwan use computer network technology and web-based agricultural information, as well as their attitudes toward agricultural informati on communication. Results of this study have shown that most agricultural vocational students have experiences using computer networks but only few of them try to access agricultural information via these tools. There are significant differences among stu dents using web-based agricultural information with respect to their different majors, access to the necessary facilities, and completion of appropriate computer courses. On the other hand, those who have Internet experiences were not satisfied with the c urrent agricultural websites. Students who plan to join the agricultural force as their future careers are more likely to apply web tools to support their farming work and to search for web-based agricultural information than students who are not going to stay in the agricultural business. Finally, based on the findings, this study proposes a model illustrating the factors that affect students' willingness to apply web-based agricultural information communication in the future.
