Economic Analysis on the University Enrollment Expansion and Individual Educational Choice (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

Based on human capital theory and sorting model, it is illustrated that the reason why university enrollment expansion has led to the affected quality of higher education and the declined employment rate of college graduates is that the educatees’ individual abilities and particularities and the educational contents of the educatees are disturbed. The reason why more and more individuals are still choosing to receive higher education under the background of declining employment rate and rising cost of receiving higher education is that the rational choice of the individuals’ pursuing their maximization of utilities.
