A Study on the Library Volunteers: Their Characteristic, Participated Motivation and Job Satisfaction in the Public Libraries (Article written in chinese)

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the relations of the library volunteers, their characteristic, participated motivation and job satisfaction in the public libraries, and to provide references for libraries in recruiting, training and managing the volunteers. Questionnaires were delivered to the 294 volunteers. The major findings are as follows: (1) The most strongest participated motivation is social responsibility. (2) The most satisfactory dimension in job satisfaction is human relation. (3) There are significant differences between personal characteristic and job satisfaction including sex, age, years on job and job leaving. (4) There are positive significant correlation between participated motivation and job satisfaction at 0.01 level of significance.
