Creating an Elementary School Home Page: A Collaboration to Expand the Electronic Horizons of University, Colleges and Intermediate Age Students

Cynthia J. HUTCHINSON & Gary HYSLOP

Abstract

A university faculty member, a curriculum material center librarian, a college professor, and teachers of elementary school students collaborated to expand the electronic horizons of university education students, college microcomputer applications students, and third-fifth grade elementary students. Students at all levels became partners to experience firsthand the role technology can play in education reform and to gain access to a global perspective on Web publishing. University students in Florida became mentors for elementary students nearby, as the elementary students began preparing home pages. Pennsylvania college students became the outside reviewers of the products in the final stages of preparation and evaluation.
