Abstract
This article examines the practical aspects of outsourcing cataloging in the academic libraries. Why is outsourcing being considered? What is outsourced? What are the advantages and disadvantages in outsourcing in the libraries? What is the other factor to be considered? All of these questions are being discussed. The individual libraries that have used outsourcing cataloging are investigated to determine the feasibility in the academic libraries.
