Abstract
This article describes the original Zipfs Law, which is one of the three basic laws of bibliometrics. The Zipfs Law explores the relationship between words and their frequency of occurrence in text. In addition, the following issues of the Zipfs Law are also discussed: (1) Analysis and modification of the Zipfs Law itself; (2) Comparison with Bradfords Law, and (3) Applications and problems of the Law.
