Discourse Analysis and Information Retrieval Interaction

Abstract
This article describes the application of Discourse Analysis (DA) to the field of Library and Information Studies, particularly in the situation of Information Retrieval Interaction (IR Interaction). It delves into the two major difficulties in applying DA: The interpretation of meaning and the determination of the unit of analysis. Studies applying DA to the field are illustrated.
