Evaluation of Multimedia Interface Design: A Case Study of the Columbus Courseware

Abstract
Columbus is a multimedia courseware that covers many subject areas.It not only provides a great amount of information in multimedia format, but also manipillates many creative usage of the interface. By means of interview and questionnaire, this study gatheres experts' critiques on the interface design of Columbus. It is suggested that inconsistent manipulation of icon and "creative" interface design such as river navigation may causes more confusion and frustration for the novice users.
