INFORMATION LITERACY AND LIBRARY USER EDUCATION

Abstract
The prospect of information literacy will be becorning more important and widely taught as a core course of library user education programs. The coming era of the information society and more information tools or networks available throughout the world. Information literacy is an indispensable skill to teach the users the capabilities of selecting, acquiring, evaluating and analyzing the information needed. The paper depicts the information literacy program, its concept, its development, as well as describes a number of examples implemented in Taiwan area of all the academic levels .
