A study on the process of career development of drug abusers (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the process of career development of drug abusers. The researcher adopted the method of narrative interview to four drug abusers to explore their views on significant career events. The data were analyzed in terms of the procedures, which were explicated by the holistic-content views of narrative analysis. The findings of this study were as follows: The developmental stages of the drug abusers’ career included five stages, that is, growing up without parental love, beginning to sail to losing, self-indulgence, reorientation and re-sail to the future or re-indulgence. Each stage has its core focus of career.
