Analysis of After-School Child Care Center Evaluating Indicators (Article written in Chinese)

Hsing-Ming LEE & Mi-Tao CHEN

Abstract

The study examines validity of evaluating indicators for after-school child care center through measurement invariance and multitrait-multimethod (MTMM). The two sections of the evaluating indicators, including children learning, children care, are treated as distinct traits. While, directors’ internal evaluation and subject matter experts’ external evaluation are treated as distinct methods. Statistically, measurement invariance is used to test factorial invariance. Campbell and Fiske’s criteria is used to evaluate the MTMM matrix, and confirmatory factor analysis is used to test nested factor models. Analysis of measurement invariance show the indicators and the traits are the same across groups. Analysis of MTMM provide support for the validity of the evaluating indicators. Those findings will give helpful information for validation of evaluating indicators for after-school child care center and future study.
