On the Study of the Language State in a Developing Industrial Area of China (Article written in chinese)

Abstract

The formation, development and variation of the language state in a developing industrial area is one of the most radical and typical phenomena of language shift in the course of modern industrialization of mankind. To study and to keep abreast of the evolutional law of language in the developing industrial area has very important and crucial significance for revealing the mystery of the development and evolution of language. The industrialization of China is part of the industrialization of mankind, yet it has its own unique law. In the past fifty years, language state of different types such as Putonghua, local dialect, dialect of other areas and mixed language have arisen in more than one hundred industrial areas in China. There is a close relation between these various states and the nature and history of every industrial area. This essay provides a preliminary analysis of the methods, steps and significance of the study on the causes of the appearance and the law of the evolution of various states of language in different industrial areas in China which had been built up after liberation.
