Abstract
Culture is one of the most important factors influencing language change, especially lexicon. For the past 20 years during which period China has been carrying out its economic and social reforms, thousands of new words have entered into the modem Chinese lexicon. This article attempts to analyze the linguistic features as well as the sources of these new words.
