Abstract
In December 1985, our country issued “The Checked Table”, which provides the standard transcription and pronunciation that concern cultural, educational, publishing, broadcast and other departments, for words of different pronunciations in Putonghua. Dictionaries play an important role in spreading the standard pronunciation of Putonghua. They should follow The Checked Table in transcribing words having different pronunciations.
