Abstract
From the structural, that is, from the formal, phonetic and semantic viewpoint of Chinese characters, this paper has systematically analyzed the possibility of constructing a knowledge-thesaurus of an teaching and research system of Shuowen Jiezi based on hypertextual environment. A design conception has been put forward, which should lay the foundation of the system conceived.
