Abstract

The relationship between the pronunciation, form and meaning of each modern Chinese character is very complicated. Each character is monophonic with a tone, and the pronunciation has a feature of paradigmatic relations. In our teaching, we should merely teaching students the reference pronunciation of Chinese characters, and try to reveal the relationship of the pronunciation, form and meaning of each character.
