Abstract
The compiling of special purpose textbooks should be based on the requirements of the students. This article tries to probe into the compiling of the Chinese textbook utilized by foreign language continuation schools in the Republic of Korea in the following aspects: analysis of requirements, designing of the textbook within the framework of the communicative syllabus, the authenticity of the textbook, purpose, as well as factors of restriction.
