Abstract
As law is the embodiment of state power, preciseness is of paramount importance to the language of law. Legislation of a state is to maintain the steadiness of state power and safeguard social stability so as to develop national economy. Therefore, preciseness is crucial to the language of legislation. Only when accurate and rigorous words are used to express concerning laws and regulations leaving no loopholes, can laws and regulations provide all people in society with behavioral mode or standard, really playing the role of regulating and measuring people’s legal acts, so that the aim of ruling the country by law can be realized. If there are oversights and omissions in the language of law, people may be confused about what is right and what is wrong, and may not know what they are supposed to do, and then legislation would be meaningless. This article will explore some practical language skills that are conclusive to the preciseness of the language of legislation.
