Abstract
The article mainly discusses the modernization of Chinese language textbooks for overseas learners. Here modernization means the modernization of teaching perspectives, philosophy guiding the designing of textbooks, the means of textbook compilation and the media of presentation. On the basis of the discussion above, a textbook compiling model for open and continuous teaching of Chinese to adult foreign learners is proposed. It aims to facilitate the reform and modernization of Chinese language textbooks.
