Abstract
This paper defines the notion of “developing communicative competence in spoken Chinese”, partitions different levels of overseas students’ communicative competence in spoken Chinese from a pedagogical perspective, and establishes the training criteria involving the competence in language system, expressive appropriateness and cultural adaptability.
