Abstract

Foreign language learning anxiety is an important factor influencing L2 acquisition. Based on recordings of 15 foreign students, this paper analyzes the relation between their Chinese learning anxiety and fluency of spoken Chinese. On the basis of the actual status of their unnatural pauses within and between sentences per 100 words and their levels of anxiety, we put forward some methods to release their anxiety.

Keywords: anxiety; speaking fluency; unnatural pause within a sentence; unnatural pause between sentences
