Abstract
Language style is the key word in language stylistics, and also an essential problem that has to be settled in the study of language style. Based on the linguistic, sociolinguistic, and aesthetic understanding of both the features and formation of language style, this article analyzes and evaluates the most representative definitions of language style since 1949 and puts forward a new view of language style with a re-definition from five aspects.
