How to Iron Out the Difference of Notation of Parts of Speech in Dictionaries (Article written in Chinese)

MA Biao & ZOU Shaohua

Abstract

By studying the notation of parts of speech in several Chinese dictionaries, we found that the difference of the classification of words comes from the difference of the criteria of the classification and the sense of language from different people. The paper puts forward a method of frequency statistics to solve the problem. This is a criterion of the classification based on the language fact. The paper holds that it is important to tell the basis of the classification and the delimitation criterion apart, and proves that it’s a feasible and scientific method to apply the frequency statistics to the word classification.

Keywords: parts of speech; basis of the classification; frequency statistics
