Abstract
The revision of Chinese dictionary is a continuation of dictionary compilation. Several times revisions of Xinhua Dictionary have provided many valuable suggestions for revising Chinese dictionary, which are manifested as follows: reflect and embody language policies and standards of the state through the revision of dictionaries; keep abreast of the times and meet the needs of the masses; keep the original basic style, characteristics, scale and framework; revisers supposed to be familiar with the content, stylistic rules and layout of the original version; a detailed plan required before revision.
