The Development and Improvement of the Experiment of Chinese Teaching Through Studying Pinyin at the Initial Stage (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

The paper summarized the achievements of the experiment of the reform for Chinese teaching in primary school through the method of learning Chinese from the study of pinyin at the initial stage, so to accelerate the ability of reading and writing. It affirms the successes of the experiment, which has undergone for 20 years, fit the needs of quality education, and praises it to be a milestone in the history of Chinese teaching.

The author expresses his disapprobation upon reducing the requirement of teaching pinyin, and stresses that Chinese teaching should meet the demand of the ability on Chinese information processing, which need take words (not syllables) as its unit.
