Abstract
This paper proposes a new construction model of bilingual WordNet and presents some of the pivotal algorithms within its realization. A characteristic of this new approach is to emphasize the inheritance and transformation of the existent monolingual lexicon with the aim of a bilingual one. The Institute of Computational Linguistics, or ICL, has benefited a lot by employing this model and tool to build a Chinese Concept Dictionary (CCD), a bilingual WordNet-like lexicon, in Peking University.
