Abstract
Since its issuance in 1958, the Scheme of Chinese Phonetic Alphabet has been playing an important role where Chinese characters can’t be used, which can be regarded as the greatest success in Chinese linguistics. Nevertheless, the scheme is not perfect and many suggestions have been made to revise it. This paper presents a review of the suggestions
