Abstract
This essay is attempting to find the major types of mispronunciation in Standard Chinese — homophones; It analyses the major cause of the mispronunciation — the unbalance of Pragmatic frequency of the different entry of homophones; It also discusses the impact of the high frequency effect on the mispronunciation of homophones and comes up with some ways of improving the teaching of homophones in Standard Chinese.
