Abstract
The third edition of the Modern Chinese Dictionary keeps most of the dialect words in the second edition with necessary adjustments. This article is exclusively devoted to discussion of treatment of 1459 words from three aspects: areas of usage, frequency, and complementarity. The author suggests that care should be taken in entry of dialect words.
