Standardization of Chinese Character Forms (Article written in Chinese)

ZHANG Wanbin

Abstract

The article divides the change of form of Chinese characters into two classes: the fundamental change and the conditional change. It points out that these two kinds of form change refer to two different social objects. It discusses the relationship between the old-new forms and original (complex)-simplified forms, the old-new forms and normal-variant forms. It inspects those concrete problems such as the stroke number, the orders of stroke, the coditional change, the standardization of the character components (radicals) and their compositions. It also offers some suggestions on making a complete standard character list.

Keywords: old-new forms; fundamental change; conditional change; standard character list
