An Investigation and Analysis of the Acceptability Judgment of Some Sentences (Article written in Chinese)

WANG Dachang

Abstract

The author has surveyed 98 college students on the acceptability judgment to some sentences. The result of the study shows that among the various factors which influence the students’ acceptability judgment, the most important one is the grammatical structures of the sentences. Moreover, the backgrounds of the different sexes and special fields of respondents also have influence on the acceptability judgment of a certain extent: the female multitude is more sensible than the male multitude to the faulty sentences, and the multitude from the Chinese mayor is more sensible than the multitude from the mathematical major.

Keywords: language norm; acceptability; faulty wording or formulation
