Abstract
Questionnaires designed to investigate the speech act of criticism by native Chinese showed Chinese mostly choose to criticize others on private occasions by means of three types of different criticizing strategies, to which different responses form some criticism patterns that present dynamic interaction. Based on the questionnaires some suggestions for teaching Chinese criticism to foreign students are put forward.
