The Development of the Standardized Chinese Character List (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

To popularize the National Law on General Language and Characters demands the development of The Standardized Chinese Character List, which calls for the integration and adjustment of all the current regulations. If the characters included in the List should be kept in accordance with the computerized character bank, four character sub-lists may be established: Common Character List, Interchangeable Character List, Rare Character List and the Index List. As for the character form, congruent variant forms of characters need to be reorganized, simplified characters and analogized simplification codified in The General List for Simplified Characters should be used continuously, and new character forms must be employed persistently.
