Abstract
According to the foreign student errors of using the words like henduo (很多), shao (少) and you (有) etc., the paper describes the homographic phenomenon involved in these words and analyses their evolution from the historical point of view. Besides, the paper points out the principles of the communication in use of the standard Putonghua (普通話) and the issues to which should be paid more attention by the teachers in teaching Chinese as the second language.
