Abstract
This article is based on the current situation of the Chinese characters teaching to foreigners, which now demands to be strengthened promptly, and the actual situation of the intermediate and advanced Chinese characters courses offered these years. It makes the study of the necessity of offering these courses and the study of their substance and the ways of learning them. In this article the author expounds the theses as follows. It is necessary to offer elective Chinese characters courses to the intermediate and advanced foreign students; the first task in the courses is to reveal inherent systematism of the Chinese characters; the important thing in the courses is to learn with a plan according to their different levels and that the lexical acquisition teaching must be connected with words and sentences teaching.
