“v + v” Structure Ambiguity Study in Contemporary Chinese for Chinese Information Processing (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

Ambiguity is one of the difficult problems in linguistics. It is one of the keys in nature language understanding and machine translation. “v + v” is one structure which may have ambiguity after instantiation. According to Potential Ambiguity Theory, this paper analyzes “v + v” phrase by integrating syntactic, semantic and pragmatic processing. It makes a comprehensive study of Chinese “v + v” structure, aiming at finding out the reason why ambiguity exists and searching out some disambiguity rules.
