Abstract
Language knowledge database is an important part in the system of natural language processing. However, different kinds of knowledge database attach importance to the syntactic and semantic descriptions of content words and have little to do with functional words. This paper mainly discusses the building of knowledge database of functional words, including the building of a use-based machine dictionary, a corresponding proper-scope tagged corpus and a rule database. The last part is the emphasis of the present work.
