Functions of Advertising Languages: A Critical Discourse Analysis (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

There have been many researches on advertising language, however, most of them put emphasis on formal analysis of advertising language rather than its social function. This paper, from the perspective of sociolinguistics and critical discourse analysis, proposes that advertising language has a very important function, namely constitutive function. Studies on gender are taken as an example to demonstrate this function of advertising language.
