Abstract
As language issues are very complicated in our country, there are various problems concerning language status planning. This paper mainly expounds the relation between dialects and the common language, and analyses the necessity of protecting the dialects from the angles of the bearing capacity and the multiformity of culture. In order to solve this problem, we should adopt the policy of bidialectism. This paper also discusses the problems of the position of foreign language education and mother tongue education, foreign language education and the linguistic equality in the international relation and so on.
