Abstract
With the rapid growth of China, the Chinese language is attached greater importance by more and more foreign countries. In face of the high tide in Chinese instruction, we, as the spreader of our own language, should learn from developed countries in terms of language dissemination, and make our policy for spreading Chinese in accordance with our situation. The present paper firstly studies the course of the spreading of other major languages, and on this basis, analyses the problems facing the spreading of Chinese. It is hoped that our paper will contribute to the policy making with regard to the teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
