Abstract
There are various sets of reference terms in contemporary Chinese, which has social, historical and psychological reasons. This article gives a detailed description and analysis of the ways of their composition and use conditions. Besides, this article also reveals the principles and the causes of sets of reference terms, and makes explanation about the changes in the development of the society.
