The Attitudes of Different Ethnic Groups to Putonghua (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

This paper inquires into the attitude of different ethnic groups to Chinese common language — Putonghua and the relation between Putonghua and the identified feeling of languages and cultures of different ethnic groups, analyzes the reasons that take shape into difference and the influences on identified and integrated feeling of the Chinese Nation, and predicts the future language situation of China. Based on the data from the project “The Survey of Language Situation in China”, this paper draws some conclusions as followings: The pragmatic value and the emotion value is highly identical among interviewees. The ethnic factors have some effects on the identification of Putonghua. We should improve the emotion value of Putonghua in language planning in the future. Based on the general identification to Putonghua, we put forward the issue of identity of languages and cultures among all Chinese ethnic groups.
