Abstract
There are three important terms in Chinese graphology: side component, radical and component part. This paper simply studies them from the derivation and practical usage. On the basis of this, this paper clearly defines these terms. It is hoped that the discussion will benefit the standardization of Chinese graphology terms and clear up some vague understandings about Chinese graphology theory.
