Analysis on Nominal Compound Words Containing Quantifier Morpheme (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

This article focuses on some compound words constituted of a nominal morpheme and a quantifier morpheme that can be the noun’s modifier, such as “ground” (qiuchang, 球場), “bag” (shubao, 書包), “note” (biji, 筆記). The author probes into the characteristic and classification of the compound words according to the relationship of the meaning of the two morphemes. The author further analyzes what kind of Chinese words can be evolved into quantifiers and the reasons for the evolution.
