The Meanings and Vitality of “PK” and Some Correlative Words (Article written in Chinese)

Abstract

Initially, we traced the original meaning of “PK” (i.e. player kills or personal kills). Then we elaborated “PK’s” extended meanings, and listed its usages. Since there are some correlative words similar to “PK” semantically, it is necessary to make a comparison between “PK” and those correlative words. Based on the discussion, we identified their synchronic competitive relationships. We analyzed the reason “PK” is so popular captured our interest in detail. Finally, we try to predict the vitality of “PK” in various ways.
