Abstract
The theory of speech community is a very important theory in sociolinguistics. Now the theory is in the stage of development. The theory develops along the way from the outside study of speech community (SPC) to the inside of SPC and from the abstract study to the idiographic study. Now under the guidance of the theory of SPC, it is very necessary to choose suitable groups as the object of study for the purpose which enriches the theory of SPC. This article chooses migrant workers speech as the content of study and attempt to search the possibility which migrant workers can form a new speech community. The research of SPC for migrant workers will have a value for the theory of SPC.
